BBuilding Department:
 The Building Department processes all permits for construction in the City of Lake Helen with the exception of wells, septic systems and irrigation systems.(Volusia County Health Department (386) 822-6250)The Building Officials review all plans to assure they meet the requirements of the Florida Building Code.
Field inspections are conducted to make sure structures are being constructed in accordance with approved plans and codes.Tree Permits and Land Alteration Permits are reviewed by the Public Works Superintendent.
